MineWolf Bagger Arrives in Sudan
28.11.08

Norwegian People´s Aid (NPA) has been conducting humanitarian demining operations with the MineWolf in the states of Western and Central Equatoria and Jonglei in Southern Sudan since October 2005. Certain areas of operations consist of terrain that is difficult to reach or too dangerous for traditional demining techniques, i.e trenches, craters, and steep slopes. To address this problem, NPA has purchased an armoured demining excavator from MineWolf Systems, the “MineWolf Bagger”.

The machine consists of a commercial excavator (Liebherr 924) up-armoured and equipped with an additional powerpack and hydraulically driven open-basket tiller. A shovel attachment was also provided. MineWolf Systems also provided all logistical support, as well as mechanical and operator training.

According to NPA “The Bagger is a highly versatile machine and is best suited to areas of difficult ground”.
